Footwear
Shoe last prototyping is a foundational process in footwear development, involving the creation of a three-dimensional form that defines the shape, fit, and structure of a shoe. The lasts shown here were fabricated in plaster, a material chosen for its durability and ease of refinement during the shaping process, emphasizing the critical relationship between last geometry and final shoe construction, ensuring that each design translated accurately from three-dimensional form to finished product.
A custom last was developed based on my own precise foot measurements, establishing an anatomically accurate base for footwear construction and as a result, it provides a consistent foundation throughout the design process. This personalized form serves as a reference for all subsequent designs, ensuring that each design followed the contours of the foot and supported overall comfort and wearability.
